Oshin Wilson has a bachelor’s degree of science in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering, both from The University of the District of Colombia. Her master’s thesis project was titled “Investigating the Effects of Virtual Reality-Based Training on Balance Ability and Balance Confidence in Older Adults.”

 

Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in Biomedical Engineering & Biotechnology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her research has focused on biomechanics, rehabilitation, virtual reality and concussions. Her current doctoral research is on “Investigating the Effects of Concussion on Balance Performance and Sensory Reweighting in Athletes.”

 

She is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). With her free time Oshin enjoys content creation, fashion, volunteerism, mentorship, and traveling.
