Kate Wallace, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, CSCS, earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of New England in 2004. Her passion for orthopedics led her to pursue a two-year fellowship program at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (IOMT), where she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). Kate continued her education and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mass General Brigham University of Health Professions (formerly known as MGH Institute of Health Professions) in 2010. 

 

Kate specializes in orthopedics, sports medicine, postoperative care, manual therapy, and treatment of spinal conditions. She has practiced as a physical therapist for more than 20 years, with most of her career dedicated to Spaulding Rehabilitation and Mass General Brigham. Her commitment to education and mentorship led to her role as a laboratory Instructor for Mass General Brigham University of Health Professions, as a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education (SCCE) for Spaulding, and an active member of several special interest groups (SIGs).  

 

In 2025, Kate transitioned to the Physical Therapy & Kinesiology Department at the University of Massachusetts to pursue her lifelong goal of working in academia. In addition to teaching, and her recent work as a research project manager for a study using markerless motion capture technology to track biomechanics, Kate will begin a PhD program in the fall of 2026. She will be pursuing her research interests in biomechanical analysis, rehabilitation technologies, wearable sensors, and human performance. Outside of her professional life, Kate enjoys being active outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
